FestivalDuMiel.com is an independent editorial initiative imagined and developed by Adel Mahjoub, an independent web developer from Sidi Alouane. Passionate about showcasing digital heritage, he wanted to put his technical skills at the service of a volunteer project devoted to documenting, preserving, and passing on Tunisia's beekeeping heritage.
The project was born from a simple observation : much of the memory of Tunisian beekeeping remains scattered across personal archives, publications on social networks, printed documents, or accounts that sometimes become difficult to find over the years. Yet this richness forms an important part of the natural, agricultural, and cultural heritage of Tunisia.
Although the Festival du Miel de Sidi Alouane is what sparked this initiative, the ambition of FestivalDuMiel.com goes far beyond the scope of an annual event. The site is being built progressively as a documentary platform dedicated to all of Tunisian beekeeping heritage.
Over time, the project gathers and organizes content around several major themes :
Each collection is designed as an evolving documentary resource, gradually enriched through research, archives, accounts, and contributions gathered over time.
FestivalDuMiel.com is not the official website of a festival, an institution, or an organization. It is an independent editorial project whose goal is to produce reliable, lasting, and accessible documentation on Tunisian beekeeping.
As much as possible, the published information relies on verifiable sources, archival documents, official publications, meetings with key players in the sector, and documentary photographs. When information is incomplete or under verification, this is clearly stated in a transparent manner.
Tunisian beekeeping heritage is a collective work. Many pieces of information are still poorly documented or difficult to access. Anyone who wishes to share archives, photographs, accounts, or propose a correction is invited to contact us.
Each contribution helps progressively enrich this digital memory so it can be passed on to researchers, professionals, students, enthusiasts, and future generations.
FestivalDuMiel.com is a long-term project. Its content will be gradually expanded in step with ongoing research, meetings, events, and new publications.
The aim is not only to document current events in Tunisian beekeeping, but to build—year after year—a durable digital reference devoted to its heritage, its know-how, and to those who bring it to life.
